The Worldwide Brain Club movement was conceived by Tony Buzan and was founded on May 15th 1989 when he was the international editor of Mensa Magazine. The idea took off and local Brain Clubs, known as Brain Cells, sprung up around the world. As Tony said at the time “The Brain Club is for anyone who has a brain and wants to learn how to use it well. Not just anyone can join, but everyone can!”
The objective of the Worldwide Brain Club is to encourage the personal development of members and their families and to promote the growth of a worldwide culture of mental literacy and excellence. It does this by focussing on the five learning mind sports of Memory, Mind Mapping, IQ, Speed Reading, and Creativity.
